Physio Austria Symposium 2026 - Celebrating the 65th anniversary (Austria) | 24 & 25 April 2026

Esther-Mary D'Arcy, Chair of the Europe Region, recently joined PhysioAustria in Vienna for a two-day symposium celebrating the organisation’s 65th anniversary. The event was hosted in a unique setting—the home of the Vienna Boys’ Choir.

The programme explored two connected themes: Day 1: The Body as a Machine and Day 2: The Human as Human. In what marked her final official engagement before the General Meeting and stepping down as Chair, Esther-Mary opened the second day with a series of reflections on the human dimensions of physiotherapy. Drawing on insights gathered during her visits to member organisations across Europe over the past eight years, she shared key perspectives from colleagues across the region—making the theme a particularly fitting opportunity to reflect on her experience during her term.

These visits marked the final events attended by Esther-Mary D'Arcy in her role as Chair of the Europe Region of World Physiotherapy, a position she will hold until the Europe Region General Meeting in Pristina, Kosovo, on 14–15 May 2026 when she will step down.
